Server Profiles
The software allows you to create an unlimited
number of "Server profiles". A server profile is a stored set
of settings for the server that you can activate immediately. Server profiles
allow you to have different settings either for different servers or for
one and the same server. It allows you to manage server settings quickly
and flexibly.
How profiles work:
The program can work with two types of
profiles: Default Profile and
Custom Profiles. There can be
only one Default Profile and it
is always used when the program is started with no parameters in the command
line. If you specify the name of a profile in the command line, this profile
will be loaded at and activated once you start the program.
There can be an unlimited number of Custom Profiles and you can create them
to store settings for different servers or different tasks. You can activate
a previously created profile at any moment. To do it, you should either
select the name of a profile from the menu using the "Profiles"
button on the "Monitor Options"
tab or select the necessary profile from the list on the "Server
Profiles" tab and to make it active using the "Use Profile" button.

Profiles
list - Shows the list of created profiles. The left column contains
the name of a profile. It can be the address of a server either in its
symbolic designation or as any name convenient for you. The right column
contains the description of a profile. Here you can describe the set of
settings or give any other information in the free form.
Edit
profile name or comment - It is group of two fields which allows
you to edit a name of a profile or its comments.
New Profile
- This button allows you to create a new profile. When you create a new
profile, the settings of the currently active profile are used as a template.
You can change these settings by saving the created profile (Save Profile)
and making it active using the "Use Profile" button. Since this
moment the created profile becomes active and all changes in settings
will be saved to it. To save settings, use the "Apply" button
on the main toolbar.
Save
Profile - This button allows you to save the profile you have just
created or modified. After you save it, the profile does not become active.
To activate it, click the "Use Profile" button or use the "Profiles..."
menu.
Delete
Profile - This button allows you to remove an unneeded profile.
This operation is irreversible and if you remove a profile by mistake,
you will have to create it anew. It is a minor problem since the process
of creating a new profile is very simple.
Create Shortcut - This button allows you to create a shortcut
to your profile. It is convenient because it allows you to start the program
and load the necessary profile with a mouse click.

This operation is carried out similarly
to starting the program with a profile name specified in the command line.
Shortcuts to profiles are saved on the current user's desktop in the folder
"HSLAB HTTP Monitor Profiles".

Besides, you can access this folder via the program group
in Windows Start Menu.

Use Profile
- This button allows you to activate the selected profile. After the selected
profile becomes active, all changes in settings will be saved to it. You
can activate another profile by using either this button or the "Profiles"
button from the menu.
Step-by-step tutorial
"How to create and use profiles"
Start the program.
The program is always started with the default profile activated.
To create a new profile,
you should go to the "Server Profiles" tab and click the "New
Profile" button. The program will create a new inactivated profile
as a copy of the currently active (in this case "Default") profile.
You should edit the new profile name and comment and save it. Now you
have one new inactivated profile as a copy of the "Default"
profile.
To modify the new
profile, you should activate it. Click the "Use Profile" button.
When the profile is activated, the program will read all settings from
the active (new) profile and save all modifications to the active profile.
Now you can change any settings you need and save them to the profile
using the "Apply" button. NOTE: The "Apply" button
saves settings only to the active profile.
Create another profile
as described in step 2. Now you have 2 custom profiles (for example, with
the names profile 1 and profile 2). Now you can switch between profiles
1 and 2 using either the "Use Profile" button or the "Profiles..."
menu on the "Monitor Options" tab.
Repeat step 2 as many times as you need
to create either custom profiles for all your servers or different configurations
for one and the same server.
